Sector Monitoring Internships

CCCHFA is seeking up to 2 full time catch data collectors for its commercial gillnet and hook-and-line groundfish fleet. Specifically, the interns will be collecting and recording high quality catch and discard data for the only two community-based groundfish Sectors in New England. Interns will work as a team with additional local data collectors to set the bar for Sector monitoring in the region, and have the opportunity to experience and participate as Sector monitoring policies are developed in New England.

CCCHFA interns will be expected to work weekends when necessary, and be prepared for fishermen’s hours (3-5am departure time). Significant time at-sea is expected (3-4 days per week). The ideal candidate will be sea-worthy, detail orientated, responsible, and adaptable.
