2009 Internships

Cape Cod Commercial Hook Fishermen’s Association (CCCHFA) Internships offer an opportunity for partnership between self-motivated, ambitious, adventurous students and a leading conservation organization comprised of innovative commercial fishermen and their professional staff. All intern experiences feature a unique opportunity to integrate into a working fishing community and learn firsthand about a variety of commercial fishing gears and vessel types by engaging in policy development and implementation as well as heading offshore with CCCHFA members. Successful candidates will possess excellent communications and writing skills, along with the ability to research and disseminate information.

In addition to the 2009 position descriptions below, CCCHFA encourages candidates to develop and implement alternative independent projects which will enhance and expand their professional development while providing benefits to CCCHFA members and the marine environment. Past projects have often served as a springboard to graduate level thesis work. CCCHFA is committed to assisting candidates with this process, including applications for funding support. Plans for independent projects should be discussed with CCCHFA and finalized prior to May 1.
