Bluefin Tuna
In June, the summer tourists begin to arrive on Cape Cod and so do the western Atlantic bluefin tuna, which annually head up to these waters from the Gulf of Mexico. New England commercial fishermen use artisanal harpoon and traditional rod-and-reel gear to bring in one fish at a time. The fish must be more than 73 inches; if they are more than 81 inches, they are considered a giant.
