Conch
Another international delicacy is channeled whelk, also known as New England conch. Many Cape Cod fishermen decided to go into conching when they saw the cod and haddock they had relied on for years disappear from local waters. Prized in Asia, local fishermen are hoping that conch will soon have domestic appeal so that some of their abundant catch will stay local. Local fishermen go out and come in daily, hauling pots and harvesting conch, then resetting their pots for the next trip.
